Partnerships in Fitness originated in New Orleans, LA in 1995, when Robin Parson, CEO/Founder joined forces with the Louis Armstrong Foundation, Inc. The goal of this partnership was to develop an array of dance fitness programs designed to address the growing epidemic of diseases often associated with obesity. To accomplish this, Partnerships in Fitness implemented dance fitness classes within art centers, community recreation centers, schools, and universities throughout the city of New Orleans, La.
By 2007, Partnerships in Fitness was established in Atlanta, Ga. where they continued implementing innovative lifestyle programs throughout the greater Metropolitan Atlanta community.
In 2008 partnering with KIPP South Fulton Academy, Charter School, Partnerships in Fitness designed fitness and nutrition programs for the 5th and 6th grade students .
In 2009 Partnerships in Fitness partnered with the Future Foundation, in East Point, Ga. under the Carol White PEP Grant and implemented fitness and nutrition programs for students grades 4 through 8.
In 2010 Partnerships in Fitness partnered with Blue Cross Blue Shields, Ga. to develop a "Healthy Workforce, Healthy Workplace"worksite wellness program for the 5,000+ employees of Fulton County Government, the largest County Government in the State of Georgia. On February 21, 2014, Fulton County Government was awarded the Healthiest Employer Award by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.Partnerships in Fitness serviced the Fulton County Government for 7yrs (2010-2017) advocating for a healthy workplace and workforce.
