40 Days to a Better You
It's quite an amazing time to be alive. Technology, smart phones, self driving cars, and a waiting list for a trip to the moon has become the norm as we anticipate the next big thing. We are truly living not just the American dream, but the hopes and dreams of our ancestors. But how far have we really come? Stress, anxiety, depression, obesity, and an array of other illnesses seem to invade the very core of our joy, peace, happiness, and prosperity.
Spend your time and energy in training yourself for spiritual fitness.
Physical exercise has some value,
but spiritual exercise is much more important
for it promises a reward in both this life and the next.
This is true and everyone should accept it.
1 Timothy 4:7-9
For not so long ago, when there was no Uber, or Lyft. no Marta, or subways... no planes, no trains nor rocket ships to the moon, Jesus, Buddha, and Mohammed and their disciples walked everywhere they traveled. Some trips taking as little as a day or two, others depending on the distance several weeks. Again as we reflect on that thought... take into consideration that there were also no Jordan's, Nikes, Adidas, or New Balance to make their travels easier. So I wonder... what is our excuse for refusing to do that which the Prophets we most admire did most everyday? Walking... the most basic of cardiovascular exercises.
